November 4, 1946 - September 11, 2024

Teddy James Hammer, 77, of St. Louis, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, in the comfort of his home. Born on November 4, 1946, Teddy was a beloved father, grandfather, great-uncle, brother, and friend, as well as a U.S. Army veteran who was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery during his service in Vietnam. He lived his life with honor, strength, and quick wit, touching the lives of many.
He is survived by his three children, Amy Hammer, Jill Hammer, and Andrew Hammer; his two cherished grandchildren, Else Bird Nelson and Mila Hammer; his brother, Terry Hammer, the late Rita Hammer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Marian Hammer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, September 17, at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Kutis, followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

  2. Amy, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. He will be missed by many. I’m remembering the time we were at Black River Lodge together. It was a fun time. I’m glad I got to meet him then. I will be thinking of you and hoping you won’t grieve too long.
