Joyce B Hammons 93 years, passed away on December 9th, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born on August 4, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri to William E Scharringhausen and Verena J Sturm. Joyce retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital at Jefferson Barracks after 20+ years as a dietitian. She enjoyed history and was a long-time supporting member of the Missouri Civil War Museum at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.

She is Survived by her Son Bryan Hovorka and his wife Shannon, Son Mark Hovorka and wife Linda, Daughter Stacy Rehagen and her husband Donald. 7 Grandchildren: Jessica (Joseph) Griffin, Ryan Hovorka, Bryan (Dina) Wilson, Amie (Michael) Lepsky, Kelsey Ford, Leslie (Adam) Mattingly, Daniel J (Ashley) Rehagen. 10 Great Grandchildren. Cayden, Maxwell, Kourtney, Marcella Griffin, Evelyn and Carter Lepsky, Madison and Gabriel Wilson, Mason and Taylor Mattingly. Her sister Billie Jean Heeb.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Stepfather Senator David E. Horn, Brother-in-law Donald Heeb and long-time life partner MSgt (U.S. Army) (Ret) Walter Thomas Roberts.

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
