Beloved husband for 55 years of Judith Hannis (nee Leonard); loving father of Jeanne (Mark) Melillo, Cindy (Brad) Kuhlman, Chris (Jenny) and Dan (Adrienne) Hannis; dear grandfather of Michael, Christopher, Luke and Nicholas Melillo; Katie, Caroline, Max and Emma Kuhlman, Maddie, Ellie, Rosemary and Margot Hannis; dear son of the late Donald, Sr and Rose Hannis; dear brother of Dottie (Ralph) Ostermueller and Joe (Jean) Hannis; dear brother-in-law of Ron and the late Janet Winkler, Joan and the late John Griffith, Jack and Cindy Leonard; dear uncle, cousin and friend.
Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL 10151 Gravois, Saturday April 17, 9:45 AM to Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church for 10:00 AM mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials to St Vincent DePaul Society at Seven Holy Founders Parish appreciated. Visitation Friday 4:00-8:00 PM.

  29. Judy and family, lifting up Don today in thanksgiving for his life. 30 years ago, my first job out of the Army was as an intern at Shearson Lehman Brothers, working with Don as my mentor. Not only did he infuse me with knowledge, curiosity, passion, but we laughed a lot as well. Danny, when you were younger, we drove to southern Missouri to do a seminar during which Don played a CD of the Lion King Sountrack- he cried when The Circle of Life played as he thought of what it meant to be a father. Don had a soft heart beneath his towering personality. God Bless Him.
