Carolyn Hantak (nee Stanfield), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt and friend, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, surrounded by her children and husband. She was 87 years old.
Carolyn was born on September 11, 1938. She shared 66 loving years of marriage with her husband, Bob Hantak. Together, they built a loving family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Carolyn was the devoted mother of Greg (Gayle) Hantak, Jeanne (Dave) Cole, Nancy (Rick) Brockmeyer, Susan (Mark) Lesher, and Katie (Tim) Monroe. She was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren and to four great-grandchildren.
Carolyn leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and family that will continue for generations to come. She will be deeply missed by her family, extended family, and many friends who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
A special thank you to Breeze Hospice for taking such excellent care of Mom this past year. We couldn’t have managed without them.
Services: Memorial visitation at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (610 W. Ripa Ave 63125) on Tuesday, September 8 from 9:30 A.M. until Mass at 11 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites friends and loved ones to make a donation to a charity of their choice in Carolyn’s memory.
Carolyn will be greatly missed. If you knew her, you loved her. I feel very fortunate to have shared a special friendship all these years. You’ll live on in our fun memories. RIP sweet girl.
Carolyn was such a fun-loving person. Dodie & I had many good times with her. She now has Jesus laughing as she tells her life stories.
Carolyn always brought on a smile. She was fun to be around. We were brought together by never going to the same high school at the same time. She attended DA 1-2 and me 3-4. Carolyn will have a warm spot in my heart.
Carolyn and I had some great memories. It was never a dull moment when visiting her twice a week. She always made me feel welcomed when I came around. We would call each other “besties” as our relationship grew closer. She always knew how to make me laugh. She was one of kind. Truly amazing person inside and out. Will be truly missed!
