Hardesty

In Loving Memory

Hardesty, Nathan Allen

Nathan Allen Hardesty, age 44, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on October 18, 2025.
He was born on June 25, 1981 in Jefferson City, Missouri, to Teresa DarLynn Clark (nee Smith) and Stephan Wayne Hardesty.

Nathan was a gifted and passionate musician whose soulful voice left a deep impression on all who heard him perform. Music was his lifelong companion and the truest expression of his spirit.

Nathan’s exceptional intelligence and voracious appetite for learning led him to the in-depth study of topics spanning the breadth of human experience, and to the undertaking of wildly varied and sometimes improbable projects. A certified Master Gardener and a proud U.S. Army Cavalry Scout, there seemed to be little Nathan couldn’t do once he’d set his mind to it.

Though he explored and researched many of the world’s religions over the course of his life, Nathan eventually returned to the faith of his childhood and found meaning and peace in Christianity. He loved the Lord and spent many hours in prayer and Bible study.

Along with his many gifts, Nathan faced plenty of challenges. He lived with serious mental illness for much of his adult life, but did not let this obstacle define him. Many were drawn to his creativity and charisma, and there were those who stuck with him through even his most difficult times. Nate was a complex, talented, and unforgettable person.

He is survived by his mother, Teresa Clark (nee Smith), and step-father, Eric Clark; his father, Stephan Hardesty, and step-mother, Susie Hardesty; his sister, Lana Seibert ; his brother, Marcus Clark; his nieces and nephews, Linnea Gallup, Quinn O’Hara, Christian Seibert, Basil Seibert, and Chance Seibert; and his great-niece, Lyla Cheng; as well as extended family and friends who remember him with love and affection.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, at 3:00 pm for the family and 4:00-7:00 pm for the public at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Missouri. The graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1, at noon at the Smith Chapel Church of Christ in Gainesville, Missouri, with military honors.

Condolences
