James S. Harrell, 81, of Norris City, IL passed away on November 16, 2025 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, IL. He was born in St. Louis, MO on August 14, 1944 the son of Stephen and Elizabeth “Betty” (Land) Harrell.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Sharon and his devoted family. Daughter’s Kimberly Guinn, and Mary Clark, son Stephen Harrell and stepson Russell Mulikey, Jr. He also leaves behind his loving grandchildren Hailey Mulikey, Alyssa Finn, Makynli Ball, Cash Guinn, Stevie, Edward and Artie Harrell, Sean Flanagan and Katie Oliver. He was predeceased by his stepchildren Michelle Mulikey and James Mulikey
Jim was a tax attorney in St Peters, Missouri for 25 years before he retired to Southern Illinois to his family’s hometown. In his spare time he loved to travel and play golf. His favorite travel was cruising. He even played golf in the Caribbean.
Jim suffered a debilitating stroke in 2022 and spent his last 3 years at Wabash Senior Living in Carmi until his death. A special thanks goes to the CNA’s and Nurses who cared for and loved Jim there. They were his family as well.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., St.. Louis, MO 63129 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will then be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home, 201 E. Main St, Norris City, IL 62869. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the American Stroke Association, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home who is assisting the family with arrangements or by mail to 609 W.
