Beloved wife of the late Robert James Harris. Dear mother of Michael (Lois) Harris, Edward (Miriam Bhimji) Harris and Deborah (Michael) Stout. Dear grandmother of Kyle, Megan, Corey, Jacob (Christina), Madison, Sienna and Daniel. Dear sister of Carol (Terrence) Spies and Paul (Judy) Schulte. Dear sister-in-law of Mary Harris. Our dear aunt, great aunt and friend to many.
Shirley dedicated her life to all things family, and cared deeply for her husband Bob until his passing in 2018, cooking him a hot breakfast basically every day of their married life. She was never afraid to speak her mind, and would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She loved being around people and hosting dinners and parties. The graduation and New Year’s Day parties at the Harris house were unforgettable events not to be missed. Shirley was an incredibly hard worker, and her talents and businesses included upholstering furniture, making drapes, creating cakes and sewing wedding dresses. She loved playing cards and also greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially the annual crappie fishing trip to Truman Lake. She will be remembered for her unwavering love of family and friends and her ability to bring people together to celebrate life.
