Clyde Harrison of Imperial, MO, passed away due to complications of pancreatic cancer. He was 85 years old.
A frequent casualty of his own pursuits and after nearly “cashing his chips in” multiple times, he seemingly had nine lives. He survived two heart attacks, diabetes, sepsis, falling multiple times from high places, rolling his dump truck filled with stacks of fire-wood, and nose-diving his stock car during a heated race. Throughout it all… he still had time to crack a joke.
He could fix anything with an engine and would help anyone with a heart. He found religion on both the racetrack, fulfilling a lifelong dream having been a co-founder of I-55 raceway, and singing in the choir at First Baptist Church of Arnold, where he passionately attended for over 60 years. Whether it was the shirt off his back, a room in his house, or a tomato from his garden, he was always willing to help anyone in need.
He enjoyed being a father, whether racing his children down the driveway in his cowboy boots, teaching them how to “butt” dive at the pool, or training them to be his pit crew while helping him fix various cars, he always had time to interact with them, by whom he is lovingly survived and the goofy nicknames he assigned them: Rebecca (Wooter), Victoria (Doodlebird), Lydia (Squeaker) and Jordan (Rascal).
Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Friday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m until service at 1pm.

Clyde never failed to greet me whenever he saw me; why, I will never know … I suppose he was just a friendly soul. Clyde with his unorthodox clothing will be missed by all!

I enjoyed Clyde’s comments in Bible study on Sunday mornings. He had a knack of hitting the nail on the head and usually added some humor with it along the way. I enjoyed watching him in the Choir at church as well. Clyde was truly God’s child.
