Hart, Lois Ann (nee: Wright)

December 13, 1938 - May 9, 2025

Lois was born in Sullivan, MO on December 13, 1938, to Melvin and Sadie Wright.  She had an older sister Jean.

She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Hart for 53 years. Dear mother of Lew (Joan) Mace, Tim (Patty) Mace, Tom (Jeanette) Mace, Merry (Jim) Feeney, Keith (Gail) Hart, Cindy (Jerry) Buttress. She was a dear grandmother to Jimmy and Annie (Lew and Joan); Chris, Sean, and Randy (Tim and Patty); Greg, Mathew, Erin, Sam, and Taylor (Tom and Jeanette), Michael and Amanda (Merry and Jim), Brad and Kim (Keith and Gail) and Bryant, Courtney, and Miles (Cindy and Jerry).

She was a great-grandparent of 12:  Lucy and Remi (Jim and Kristen Mace) Kaylin (Annie Mace); Kairi (Chris and Melissa Mace); Waylon, and Natia (Sean Mace); Beau and Kylie (Sam and Philip Palmer); and Olivia Rose (Michael and Emily Dorsey) and Mason and Audrianna Lois (Amanda and Kent Joggerst)

She was also a sister to Jean Finley (Richard), and sister-in-law to Judith Hart, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Bob and Lois were St. Louis Rams season ticketholders for 20 years and also frequently attended Cardinals and Blues games.  Lois was a proud 30-year employee of Sunnen Products and a 48-year Zoo Parent.

Funeral at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, on Monday, May 19, at 11:30 AM. Interment Lakewood Park Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Lois can be made for the Reticulated Giraffe through the Saint Louis Zoo’s Zoo Parent Program. Lois was an original zoo giraffe parent since 1978, and her adoptions helped feed and care for the zoo’s tallest residents for nearly half a century. I had the pleasure of working with both Lois and Bob for many years at Sunnen and I honestly can say I’m not sure I have ever met a nicer couple in all my life. Heaven has gained the most precious angel with the purest heart!!!! Rest in Peace sweet Lois, you will be missed my many.

  4. Prayers to Bob and the entire Hart Family. I can still see Lois sitting at that desk in the lobby at SUNNEN when I started there in 1983. I remember telling my Mom on the day of my interview how sweet she was, she never changed, always sweet and pleasant. Heaven is receiving one of their sweet angels back, they don’t make them like her anymore. Rest in Peace Lois. Prayers to the entire family, she will be missed.

  8. What a sweetheart. Many years a neighbor and can picture the 2 Hart’s license plate and Bob giving short honk each time he left his love to head to work. So very sad that she has left us.

  10. It was never talked about, but I believe Bob and Lois were the reason I got my job at Sunnen. They are two of the nicest people you could ever know. My sympathy to Bob and their family. Heaven just received a real treasure.

  11. Lois was one of my favorite neighbors growing up. Her and Bob always had special treats for my oldest son on halloween and a little something at christmas. She will be deeply missed.

  12. We all know Lois will be missed by many. My wife and I only got to see them at our special vacation place, Lahaina Inn, in Ft. Myers beach, FL. It was always a pleasure and we had many wonderful conversations together. Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob and the rest of the family. God is getting another angel.
