Ms. Kathy “Jeannie” Hatfield died surrounded by her family on January 8, 2018 at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO at the age of 67.
Left to honor Kathy and remember her love are her brother Joe Hatfield (Marie) and sister Tina Grubbs (Mike), her nephews John Yancey (Michele), Mike Yancey (Kendra), Tim Yancey (Sharon), Joe Hatfield III (Lynn), Nathan Hatfield, Daniel Grubbs, Jason Grubbs; nieces Colleen Cofer (Jim), Debbie Robertson (Scott), Sue Besch (Tim), Victoria Hatfield, Melissa Hatfield Stevens (Garry), Miranda Evers (Ben), Kathy Jo Bradley (Bryce); her two baby girls Elizabeth and Rebecca. Along with 30 great nieces and nephews, and 7 great great nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William and Roy (Terrie), her sisters Barb and Pam, and her great nephew Justin.
Kathy was born on May 4, 1950 in St. Louis, MO to Joe and Catherine. She graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in 1968. After graduating she served the Department of Defense for 38 years before retiring happily in 2006. Kathy enjoyed cooking from the thousands of recipes and cookbooks she collected and being very involved at her church. After her health began to decline, Kathy dearly loved spending time with all the people in her life and became a prayer warrior.
A funeral mass, beginning with the rosary, is scheduled for 10:45am on January 27, 2018 at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, with a reception to follow. The family will greet friends from 10:00am until the time of service. Fr. Michael Rennier and Fr. Thomas Pastorius will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Kathy’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathy’s honor to Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 6596 Smiley Ave., St. Louis, MO 63139, where Kathy was a life long parishioner.
