Lee Roy, 86, of House Springs, Missouri, born November 28, 1939, Womack, Missouri, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Sunday July 19, 2026, at St Clare Hospital. Beloved husband of Carole (nee Province), whom he shared his 68 years of marriage after they were married August 3, 1957.
Father of Justine Anselman and Christine (sig/other John Morgan) Hawthorne; “Pawpaw” grandfather of Michael McDermott, Jr, Timothy(Yenny) McDermott, and Melanie (Chris) Midyett; Great “Pawpaw” grandfather of Anissa, Tyler, Cooper, Abby, Amber, Lola, and (the late Matthew).
Beloved son of Thurman and Verda (Abney) Hawthorne. Dear brother of Lois (the late Ronnie) and James (the late Christine) and the late Lavern, Doris Holt, and Shirley Ripplemeyer. Dear brother-in-law Judy (nee Province) (the late Joe) Hazard and Steve (the late Dorothy) Stevenson. Uncle, cousin, and friends to many.
Lee Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, vacation trips, camping, canoe float trips, watching the St Louis Cardinals, listening to country music, watching western movies, and looked forward to the holidays. Most days hung out in his man cave/garage watching movies and listening to music.
Retired from St Louis, Missouri Carpenters’ Local 1310 with 59 years of service, Warehouse Manager at DuPont (formerly Anchormann).
SERVICES: Funeral will be held at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Saturday, July 25, at 10:00 AM. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens (Cedar Hill). Visitation on Friday, July 24 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM.
