Hazlewood, Richard Louis passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at the age of 91. Born on October 15, 1933, to Clara Russell and William Plummer Hazlewood. Husband of the late Shirley Hazlewood. Former husband of the late Margaret Hazlewood. Father of Elisabeth and Melissa Hazlewood. Stepfather of Koren and Michael Mueller. Grandfather to William, Sam, Kate, Sky, and Juliette; brother of Barbara Hazlewood.

Lieutenant Colonel Richard Hazlewood was an aerospace engineer who flew fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters for the U.S. Army. He was instrumental in the implementation of the t700 engine in the Black Hawk helicopter.

Richard was a meticulous woodworker, baker, and cook. He was a history buff and an enthusiastic Auburn fan and graduate. He was a bright, talented man who lived a long, accomplished life.

Services: Funeral procession from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Friday, February 14, 12 p.m. to Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery for roadside comittal service with full military honors at 12:30 p.m.
