Betty Heermann (née Arkes), a lifelong resident of St. Louis, Missouri, asleep in Jesus October 11, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born on June 18, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, Betty spent her life deeply rooted in the community where she was born and raised. She enjoyed gardening, countless camping trips, golf outings, worldwide travel and winters at her Florida residence.
Betty shared many cherished years with her beloved husband Beverly (Bev) Heermann, who preceded her in death on January 16, 2015. Together they built a loving home and raised a family that brought them great joy.
Her faith was a guiding force throughout her life; she was a devoted Lutheran and served for many years as head of the altar guild at Reformation Lutheran Church. Her dedication to her church and its mission reflected her generous spirit and commitment to service.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Linda (John) Fischer and their two children Erika (Justin) Bandish and Kristin Fischer; her son Michael (Cindy) Heermann; her brother Joseph (Judy) Arkes; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends whose lives were touched by Betty’s warmth and kindness.
It is with bittersweet sadness that we say goodbye, but we are comforted to know she now lives eternally with Bev in heaven, and we will see her again someday.
A visitation will be held on December 6, 2025, at 10:00 am at Reformation Lutheran Church, 7910 Mackenzie Road followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church in honor of Betty’s lifelong faith and service.
