Eileen Marie Held, 77 (House Springs, MO) fell asleep in Christ on Thursday, August 13, 2026.
Eileen was born on May 12, 1949 in St. Louis, MO to Herbert and Violet Saeger. She was baptized into Christ at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on June 12, 1949, and confirmed in the Christian faith at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on April 7, 1963. She married Elmer Held, Jr. on May 22, 1971 and they were blessed with 55 years of marriage.
Eileen is survived by her husband Elmer Held, Jr; her children Eric Held and his wife, Lori, Aaron Held and his wife Tracey, and Amy Held; her grandchildren Emily Held, William Held, Collin Held, and Nolan Held; her siblings Robert Saeger and his wife Cindy, Martha Schellin and her husband Gerard, and Jane Johnson and her husband David; and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen’s family grieves her death, but not without hope. They give thanks that the Lord received her in Holy Baptism, sustained her by His Word, and kept her in the Christian faith until death. They take comfort in His promise: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.” They look forward in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

I was saddened to hear of Mrs. Held’s passing. While I did not know her well, I have had the pleasure of working with two of her children, and her influence is evident in their kindness and strength. Please take comfort in knowing that your mother’s love and wisdom will live on through all of you.
Sending Sympathy and Prayers to Amy and Family. Recalling good memories we have with Eileen at the studio.
