In Loving Memory

Herberholt, Lawrence Anthony

January 1, 1942 - March 31, 2026

Lawrence Anthony Herberholt passed away on March 31st, 2026 at the age of 84 surrounded by family.  Larry was born on New Year’s Day, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Beatrice “Bea” and Jerome “Pete” Herberholt.

Throughout his career, Larry worked for Anheuser Busch, Honeywell, McDonnell Douglas, and the St. Louis Art Museum where he served as a building engineer.  Larry took pride in coming up with creative solutions at the Art Museum and working hard to maintain proper humidity and temperature controls for the artwork and collections in the historic building.

Larry found real enjoyment in the outdoors and being near water. He liked fishing, boating, water skiing, canoe float trips, family vacations in Florida, bicycling, and visiting local parks and natural attractions. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and cheered on the St. Louis Blues for many years. Larry also had a resourceful habit of occasionally salvaging useful items others had set out for the trash and kept abreast of national events as a self-professed ‘news junkie.’

He is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughters, Jennifer and Ann (Jay); his son, Matt; his three grandchildren, Ava, Alex, and Vivian; and his siblings, Jerry (Judy), Bob (Paulette), Rich (the late Sandy) and Bill (Dottie).

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choosing.

Visitation at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church, 8866 Pardee Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123, Friday, April 17, 9:00 am until funeral mass at 10:00 am. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
