  1. I haven’t seen Joe in many years, but he was very special to me. Taking an interest in an awkward youth and encouraging me to be myself. Rock on my dude! Keep heaven rocking until I get there!

I remember our last conversation I told you we played this cat and mouse game for 21 years. And I was getting too old to give it another 21 and you said “we still have to finish season 1 of californication.” I said “yeah okay it’ll be a date I’ll be cautiously optimistic” with slight sarcasm in my voice and you said “have a good night Scully.” As you said this I could literally see you with that cocky grin and a wink.
I saw you reached out a while back.. “hey Scully’ and I left you on read because I thought I had time to reply. Then life got busy as it always does.
When my mom told me about your death this morning I immediately called two phone numbers I had for you with no answer. I told her this is probably a publicity stunt he’s probably launching some mass media thing; there’s no way. there’s no way…
Damn it Mulder I was just talking about you last night as a friend and I were reminiscing of our high school years; exchanging stories and comparing Battle scars.

Things that come to mind when I think of you:
Molder. Xfiles. Hank. californication David duchovny in general. Kurt Cobain .the song your just what I needed by The cars. Your white van from the police auction with the legendary band name VALLIUM spray painted on the side of it parked in the third parking spot in the front row at Oakville high School. The time I moved to festus you stopped by to keep me company while I unpacked when my neighbor pulled I explained why I was less than thrilled with him and you walked next door, didn’t say a word to him, decked him in the face then came back and proceeded to help me unpack my kitchen. Your oldest son’s name spells out “A Very Hip Person”. You going on for about 30 minutes straight without a breath telling me how proud you were of him and his amazing theatre skills. That your youngest child’s name was indeed Irish in honor of Lashawna’s family. He had a plushy penguin that you made many videos with. You are very very proud of your sons. You lived in an all vinyl house in imperial but somewhere there was one brick. Chaz Bono…CHAZ BONO. Joe E. Black from 105.7 The point. The call a veterinarian am talk show. And though we never spoke of it out loud we both knew that you never got over LaShawna and you never would … And that was okay.

Thank you for giving me the honor of 27 years of being the Scully to your Molder.

  5. I never met Joe but I used to listen to him on Hipp Nights on The Big 550 KTRS. He made my Xmas for my son special by giving away a Wii.
I was living paycheck to paycheck and that Wii made my young sons Xmas.

He seemed like a genuinely nice guy and a funny guy. My heartfelt condolences.

  9. I am so very sorry for the loss of Joe. He was so full of life, loved movies, and I really enjoyed talking with him at family get togethers @ Jim and Kathleen’s lovely home. Joe’s family has always been so very nice to me, and my thoughts and prayers are going out for his soul to be with God, and for strength to his surviving family and friends. Please Lord, watch over Joe and his loving family.
