November 13, 1931 – July 23, 2024. Preceded in death by his wife of 59 years Joan C. (nee Krysl) Hirner. Survived by children Daniel Robert (Mary L. Marshall) Hirner, Mary Michele “Shelly” (Richard J. Wolf) Bernier, and Gregory Michael (Catherine M., nee Stolze) Hirner, grandchildren Christina Marie (Andrew) McCune (nee Hirner), Melissa Kathryn (Carson) Cathcart (nee Hirner), Amy Elizabeth Hirner, Derek Michael Bernier, Gabrielle Michele (Andrew) Slade (nee Bernier), Alexandria Michele (Cory) Frewing (nee Bernier), Matthew Michael (Beth, nee Chesser) Bernier, Zachary Michael Hirner, and six great-grandchildren; dear father-in-law of the late Kathryn G. Hirner (nee McKibben); dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
“Bob” was a Korean War Air Force veteran, graduate of Quincy College, and an adjuster at GMAC, as well as Finance and Insurance manager at a number of automobile dealerships throughout the St. Louis region in his long and successful career.

Services: Funeral Mass will be held at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church (11910 Eddie & Park Rd., 63126) on Tuesday, July 30th at 12:00 p.m., with visitation prior from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A service of KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL.

HE WAS A PART OF OUR VETERANS GROUP AND ALWAYS MADE OUR SATURDAY CHURCH SERVICE. HE ALSO, AT BREAKFAST AND DINNER, ALWAYS ATE WITH A TABLE FULL OF LADIES!
I worked with Bob at Lindburg Cadillac at Jefferson and Market Downtown for many years. Bob was well organized, very conscientious and treated every customer and co-worker with respect.
Bob was well liked by everyone and was always so proud of Joan and his children..
