Hockle, Clarence “Joe”

fortified with the Sacraments of the Catholic Church Wednesday, March 8, 2023; beloved husband and best friend of Joanne (nee Garavaglia); loving father of Mary Beth Hockle and Amy (Richard) Bland; doting grandfather of Elizabeth (fiance Joseph Schwartz); dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. Clarence was a long time member of St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean War and awarded the Purple Heart.

Thanks to the staff at Ballwin Ridge.  Private service.  The family is being served by the Kutis Affton Chapel.

  7. Our prayers are with the family. Uncle Joe was a good man and a great uncle. When I was young boy Uncle Joe was the person, I looked up to and the man I wanted to be like when I grew up. He will be greatly missed. Something I never did was to, Thank Uncle Joe for his service and the price he paid for protecting this country. Thanks

  11. So sorry for your loss. Uncle Joe was always my hero. From the time I was a little child, he was the one I admired more than anyone else. He was hood, he was strong, he was kind and gentle and he always had time for me. He shared stories from his life that helped me find my moral compass. It seemed like he always did the right thing and always took care of those he loved. I’m proud to share the same bloodline. I only hope that someday I can mean as much to someone as he has meant to me. It’s hard to lose a hero. I love you uncle Joe.
