In Loving Memory

Honerkamp, Sharon (nee Falgout)

Sharon Honerkamp passed away peacefully with her family by her side on July 13th, 2022, at home in St. Louis, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Judith Falgout. Sharon was born on June 2nd, 1947 in East St. Louis. She was raised closely with her cousins, Edward Mueller and Charles “Bud” Mueller. She attended Madison High School (class of 1965) in Madison, Illinois where she met her beloved husband of 54 years, Gary Honerkamp. They were married at St. Mary’s Parish in Madison, IL, on January 27th, 1968. They were blessed with the birth of their adored daughter, Michelle Honerkamp, of St. Louis, Missouri.
Sharon had many varied interests. Her passion was baking and cooking, and she delighted in sharing this passion with her family and friends. She also enjoyed cake decorating, picture framing, and cross-stitching. Sharon loved dogs and had many Bichon Frises throughout her life. She was a lifetime Cardinals fan, and for many years, the Honerkamp’s loved travelling to the St. Louis Cardinals spring training, where they supported the Cardinals and enjoyed doing so with a close group of family friends. Sharon and Gary spent their early retirement in Tucson, Arizona, where they enjoyed sunny days, golfing, and socializing with many new, dear friends.
After a devastating accident in 2015, Sharon courageously battled numerous health complications and hospitalizations with the help of supportive healthcare professionals. Gary and Michelle never left her side and provided loving care throughout this period.
The Honerkamp family would like to thank BJC Hospice and Sharon’s healthcare team for their excellent care.
Sharon was an inspiration to all. She loved her family and was happiest when everyone was gathered near. Sharon Honerkamp’s loving heart, infectious laughter, and smile will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Memorial Service will held at Kutis Affton Chapel at 10151 Gravois Rd., St. Louis 63123 on Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 AM. Internment will be held in private.
In lieu of flowers, the Honerkamp’s ask that donations be made to The St. Louis Backstoppers.
