In loving memory of Patrick Harry Honig, age 60, fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church. Patrick passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on May 21, 2025.
Adoring husband of Anne E. Honig (nee Schellhardt); amazing father of Sophia (Jordan Gicante), Cecilia, Audrey and Jonathan.
Loving son of Patricia and the late Harry Honig. Born on October 8, 1964, Patrick grew up alongside his sister, Holly Honig, with whom he shared a special bond, as well as his siblings, Julie Honig-Smith and Steve Honig.
Cherished brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Legendary member of the Outlaws, an infamous group of Schellhardt spouses.
Patrick prioritized education, earning a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Saint Louis University. He successfully raised a teacher, an attorney, an occupational therapist and a financial advisor. He loved fishing, music, sports, studying the Bible and his many four-legged friends. Patrick played an integral role in the establishment of lacrosse programs across the St. Louis region. He took great pride in coaching his and countless others’ kids in a variety of sports.
In 2020, Patrick was diagnosed with ALS, but it never defined him. He didn’t just battle the disease, he redefined what it means to fight with grace, humility and grit. He met every day with a smile and, with the devoted care, comfort and unconditional love of his wife, Anne, and their four children, he defied all ALS odds.
His heart lives on in every life he touched, and we will carry his courage and love with us always. Rest easy, Patrick, and keep smiling down on all of us.

What an amazing man. I’m privileged to have known him for several years. He taught us all to have grace, humor and moxie in dealing with adversity. God bless him and all of you❤️
It was always a pleasure working with Pat on the soccer fields at Mary Mother and talking with him. He always had a great smile and a positive attitude and was a joy to be around. Our heartfelt condolences to everyone.
My brother, my idol, my friend. A true American hero that loved his country and his family. When I grow up I want to be just like him. I love you my brother, you’ll be in my heart forever.
Patrick was a Boss, a Friend, a Mentor, and a Role Model. I cherish our time together working, working out, buying stuff for his Jeep behind Anne’s back and our multitude of conversations ranging from philosophy to nested vlookups.
Much love.
The obituary says it all! The courageous man who lived through a dreadful disease, the loving family who endlessly cared for him and the friends who supported him during his struggle. And all the rest of those whose lives touched Patrick’s and felt the loss.
Cecilia and Beth, your family is in my thoughts and prayers
