Hicks, Linda

In Loving Memory

Hose-Hicks, Linda Ann

May 10, 1963 - October 26, 2023

Linda Ann Hose-Hicks, 60, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully to be with the Lord on October 26, 2023. She was born on May 10, 1963, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Lillian Hose (Zukas) and Donald Hose.
Linda was a free spirit who was full of life. She spread joy and positivity everywhere she went, never knowing a stranger. She had a way of bringing people together and deeply loved her family and friends. Linda was a devoted partner to Craig Breckenridge and a loving companion to her dog, Leo. She was an avid fan of rock music and had attended over 300 concerts, creating cherished memories.
Linda grew up in “Rat City” and was a graduate of South County Technical High School. In her career Linda worked for several auto dealerships, including Ackerman Toyota and Clinton Cadillac. Additionally, her passion for music led her to work for B&D Security, where she often served as a backstage liaison for renowned artists such as BB King, Foo Fighters, and Roger Waters.
Linda’s hobbies included enjoying live music and concerts, participating in home jam sessions, traveling, and spending quality time with her loved ones. She will be remembered for her zest for life and her ability to make those around her feel loved and appreciated.
Linda is survived by her son, Ryan Hicks (Hunter Deshaney and grandchildren Gabriel and Adilynn), and her stepson, Jeremiah Hicks. She is also survived by her long-time partner, Craig Breckenridge (Amanda and Nathan Mersserla), and her sisters Teresa Rose Barbee (Wally Barbee), Mary Rose Daman (David Daman), and Rita Hose Lyons, as well as her brothers Donald Hose (Debbie Hose) and Daniel Hose (Nancy Hose). Linda leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and countless cousins.
The funeral service for Linda Ann Hicks will be held on Monday, November 6th, from 4-8pm at Kutis Funeral Home located at 10151 Gravois Ave. in St. Louis, Missouri. Kutis Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.  A celebration of life, “Linda Lu Fest”, will be held at a later date in spring.
Linda’s vibrant spirit and the impact she made on the lives of those around her will be deeply missed. May she rest in peace in the comfort of our Lord Jesus.

  1. I was actually a close friend of Linda’s sister, Teresa. I lived two houses away so I was at their house quite often. I thought Linda was a very sweet little girl. I’m so pleased her life was so full of fun and friends. May her positive influence continue with them. Go forward in peace sweet Linda. Know you were loved and appreciated.

  3. While I mostly hung out with Linda’s sisters Teresa and Mary, I didn’t get to know Linda until a few years after she was born. We’d always hug and kiss when we’d see each other at the “Rat City” reunions and I’d enjoyed being Facebook friends with her. HUGS to Teresa, Mary, Don, Rita and Dan, and Craig.

  4. Linda you were such a bright light that shined on so many people. We met only 17 years ago during our time on Cherokee street. Wow did we have fun together. Singing our hearts out at the filling station karaoke, concerts, mardi gras, Cinco De Mayo’s, St. Patty’s, all those festivals, LoFi’s, Costume parties, how many trips to Mexico, Florida, South Carolina, Nashville and Alabama. 17 years just wasn’t enough time. I am missing you every day sweetheart and picking up the phone isn’t an option anymore. You made me laugh and smile with all your jokes , energy, endless stories about your adventures but I miss your lovely spirit and beautiful smile the most. I guess a light as bright as yours will burn out too early.
I am blessed to have you as one of my besties. See you again in my dreams sweetheart until we meet again. My Lovely Linda Lu. Thank you for shining your light on me.

  5. My late husband grew up next to the Hose family and would often speak fondly of childhood memories with his buddy, Donny, and the rest of the family. I’ve met Linda a few times and followed her on Facebook. I will really miss her posts…loved seeing all the concerts she attended! Such a bright, caring, full-of-life person. I know she will be sorely missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with family and friends during this difficult time.

    • Thanks Colleen, people thought we were on the move all the time, but that’s what happened when you were with Linda, no one loved life and music and friends more. Sadly missed is not even adequate

  7. I am so sorry to hear this news and sending my deepest condolences to Linda’s family and partner Craig. I only had the gift of knowing Linda for a few months as I met her through the Rover app. Linda was wonderful while caring for my pets …and me as it turned out. I connected with her in a way I did not expect, and Linda gave me some intuitive and helpful advice that I didn’t even realize I needed. I will miss her deeply. She had a magnetic spark of human spirit I will always remember. Thank you Linda for blessing me with your energy and light.

    • Jennifer, that was so sweet. Linda cared very much about her “Dogs” and Her loved spilled over to their humans. I am glad you got to know her just a little bit. She was always full of joy and making new friends completed her. Again it was her honor to be trusted and take care of one’s home in one’s absence and beloved family we call “pets”
