Hose

In Loving Memory

Hose, Michael L.

October 19, 1952 - June 27, 2023

Michael L. Hose, aged 70, residing in St. Louis, MO, passed away on June 27, 2023.

Born on October 19, 1952, Mike grew up in Baden and attended Northwest High School where he developed his street smarts and sharpened his witty sense of humor.  He used his skills and magnetic personality to become an entrepreneur, running and operating his “nutty” business, Mike Hose Sales, for over 20 years.

At the age of 23,  he married the love of his life,  Patty (Naumann) Hose,  and went on to have 2 daughters: Kim and Emily.  A loving husband, father, and grandpa, Mike never failed to give hugs, say I love you, or tell just the right joke. He was kind, generous, understanding, and delightfully stubborn. He was gentle but also fought hard for the things that mattered. Mike blessed all who knew him, especially the lucky dogs who got to be his beloved pets: Smokey, whose tail is surely wagging at the pearly gates in anticipation of Mike coming home, and Maxine.

Mike is survived by his wife, Patty; his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Jason Everhart; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Kevin Ragsdale; his grandchildren, Adriana, Charlie, and Isobel; and his rowdy brothers, Wally, John, Bill, and Jimmy. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary and George Hose, and his granddaughter, Ella.

Come celebrate Mike’s legendary journey with a visitation at Kutis Funeral Home on Gravois Road on Sunday, July 2, from 2-5 pm. A funeral service will commence promptly at 5 pm.

In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to The American Kidney Fund in Mike’s honor.

  7. So sorry for your family’s loss. Mike was certainly a true friend to my brother Mark. Mark would always love when Mike would visit him. He would take him to Baden to visit the old neighborhood and old friends!! I am sure Mark is waiting at the pearly gates with a basketball to wrap his arms around Mike! Mimi Scheetz Werkmeister

It was nice to reacquaint with Mike through FB. He was truly a kind and very funny guy. His occupation of nuts and bolts was so fitting. I’m sure he made a lot of people laugh throughout the years. We grew up as neighbors on Concord Place.

I just learned of Mike’s passing tonight. I am so very sorry for your loss. I’ve known Mike since grade school at Baden. What a character! I was reacquainted with him through Patty when I met her at Clayton Brokerage. He was so very proud of Patty and his girls. I hope you all are comforted in knowing his strong love for you! Rest in peace, Mike. ❤️
