Glenn Albert House passed away September 6, 2026. He was born January 7, 1959 in Ponce, Puerto Rico (where his father worked as a shoe designer) to Gary A. House and Emogene F. House Trossauer (both deceased). Glenn is also preceded in death by his stepfather, Joseph E. Trossauer.
Glenn married Kathy House (nee Burian) on May 30, 1981 and they shared 45 years of marriage. They have two beautiful daughters: Sarah House Buckowitz (Donnie) and Emily House.
Glenn is survived by his brothers, Gary House (Paula) and Gordon House and was a loving father-in-law, step-grandfather, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Glenn valued hard work and retired from General Motors in March, 2020 after 35 years and was a proud member of UAW Local 2250.
Glenn was a loving father to his “girls” who brought him so much pride and joy. By example, he taught them to be kind, respectful and hard-working.
Glenn made friends easily and once you were his friend, it was for life! He loved to laugh (mostly at himself) and have a good time. He and Kathy loved to entertain family and friends at their home in Oakville where he carefully maintained the yard and pool to perfection!
Glenn loved to travel and see new things but his “happy place” was in Owensville, Missouri at property he called “the farm.” It was there that he loved to hunt and fish, take walks in the woods, feed the animals and take care of everything. There he could escape from the stresses of everyday life in the fresh country air with his people.
At the end of 2025, Glenn was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, which is the most aggressive type of brain tumor. Although Glenn completed all of the treatment options available to him, there is a lack of targeted therapy for Glioblastoma patients. His prognosis from the beginning was guarded and we were blessed to have 8 months with him before cancer took him too soon. He passed peacefully at Mercy South – DeGreeff Hospice House, where he received compassionate, dignified end of life care.
Memorial Service:
A memorial visitation will be held at Kutis South County (5255 Lemay Ferry Road) on Friday, September 18, 2026 from 3 p.m. until service at 5 p.m.

I only had the pleasure of talking with him a couple of times, in the days I worked with Emily. He was so kind and it was apparent of how much of a family man he was.
It has been a pleasure and honor to get to meet and visit with you and Glenn. We only had that opportunity with Glenn for a short time but we will miss our talks with him. Praying for the whole family for peace and comfort.

Glenn was a proud and fair union representative with UAW local 2250. He was a friend to us and we are grateful for the time we had with him. He will be missed.

Glenn was the best brother a guy could have. We would hook up every month or so and go out for lunch, his friends Mike and Randy often joined us. I’ve known few people that was honest and caring, his morals and values were above reproach. He would do anything for friends and family.
One of his friends needed a place to stay for a while and Glenn and Kathy welcomed that friend with open arms. In closing, my brother Glenn will be missed very very much by me, family and friends.

I’m sorry to hear about Glenn’s passing he was definitely a person of Ole school for union and tired to help people with their problems. I miss riding back and forth with him and telling fishing and hunting stories he will be missed dearly.
I am so sad to hear of Glenn’s passing. Though I haven’t seen him since grade school, there are certain people who you fondly remember through life. Glenn was one of them. I remember him being very kind to me, in a childhood that could be challenging at times. May he rest in peace, and may his wife and children and family take comfort in knowing how much of a wonderful person he was. God Bless.

This is a story about a trip to Chicago for the UAW. I got to go along with Glenn and my husband Mark. It was a beautiful day, the sky was blue and the birds were singing. We were driving in a convertible with white interior. I guess we drove too far south in Cicero cause a couple of teens yelled something at us. Then one of them threw a red soft drink at us barely mssing Glenn in the back seat. Needless to say we got out of that neighborhood asap. RIP Glenn my union brother.
Kathy and family…I am so sorry for your loss. I am sorry I didn’t have more of an opportunity to get to know Glen. A mutual friend told you and Glenn that I lived here. She told him that I was usually at the pool. I’ll never forget Glenn walking through the pool area, calling out my name and that’s how we met. He made me laugh and who couldn’t like a person who did that!
