The world has lost a sweet, gentle soul. George passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27th, 2024.
He leaves behind his devoted husband James “Chris” Newton, his rescue cats Rocky and Kitty Girl, his brother Shawn Brannan, very special cousins Allison (Mike) Demanes, Scott (Kim) Worley, and the late Todd Worley. Our dearest nephew, uncle, cousin, brother-in-law, friend and special friend to Clint Wilson and Leslie Craig.
George’s positive attitude and creative imagination served him well as a dental technician for 13 years and later as a general contractor and talented handyman. His beatiful blue eyes sparkled with his great sense of humor. Rest in peace, George. You will be missed.
My deepest sympathy and condolences. George was a warm, loving person with a great sense of humor. I will miss him so much.

George was such a a special person. He always greeted everyone with his warm smile. When you met George, you instantly became his friend. He is going to be missed by so many people. We will never forget his kindness to us and all the fun we had together over the years.
I miss you George. I miss playing games especially Mexican Dominoes and UNO. I look around my house and see all the beautiful projects you did for me since Joe died. I pray Chris has strength to carry on and get though these days.
Love you both
Jeanne
As I walk around both my house and yard all I see is George. He was such a creative person and turned my house into a beautiful home. His sense of humor, his love for my dog Maggie and cat Finn, his talents as a handyman, his lively conversations made him a special friend to me. I truly will miss him. All of this happened so fast – I am still in shock. I know George is at peace in heaven and Chris, you are in my prayers and thoughts.

George was my nephew. With the miles between us, we didn’t see each other much. When mom came home with him it was almost like having a little brother. He was a good guy and I know he will be missed. He loved the jacket I brought him from Vietnam and always talked about it to me. I Will always think about him. Prayers for Chris and all who knew him. Uncle Ronnie and Judie
George was such an extraordinary man! He did work in our basement bar that will forever remind us of this sweet man. Condolences to Chris & family.

George worked for me at Confettis Nightclub in Peoria and was a great guy. He later became interested in becoming a travel agent and he went to work for me at our downtown travel agency as well. George was a hard worker and a good person to be with. I am so sorry to hear that he has passed at such a young age. Sending love to his husband and family… Gehrig Peterson
Sending so much Strength and Love to you and your family….George was loved and appreciated by many, including my Dad and Step Mother Patti and I will be eternally grateful for all that he did for them.
I’ll miss you forever. All my heartfelt love goes to you and Chris. My thoughts will always be there of you and Chris., as no day has gone by without a remembrance of you two. Chris, thankyou much for always being there and loving George. Lol, Uncle Grizzly.
George such a kind, gentle, and loving friend. We miss you terribly. Chris we share in this grief you are feeling and are here for you.
Chris, upon meeting George, I immediately wanted to know more. I was trying to decide whom was luckier. A perfect match. I am sorry for your loss at this time, but so happy you found each other
Chris, I did not know George as well as I would have liked to. But I did know him through your eyes and I know that he was kind and gentle and that you had many good times together.
I Immediately knew upon meeting him that I would be honored to be his counted as his friend. I felt from both of you a sense of ease, joy, happiness and love, I am here for anything you need, please call and share. I count myself lucky to known both of you as great people and fantastic couple.
That picture says it all. You can see the kindness in his eyes. George was that person, kind, caring, compassionate, and giving. He touched so many lives and helped so many people without reservation. We have known Chris for over thirty years and can say that George was the best thing that ever happened to him. They made a great team. It’s not fair that such a great person was taken so soon but there is a special place in heaven for him. He will be missed by us and by all that had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace my friend.
Chris – George was such a pleasant, kind man. You guys were a great couple. I am so sorry. Stay strong through this. I look forward to seeing you again sometime soon.
