I am so, sorry for your loss. Dave was the type of person who was always friendly and would frequently talked to me. He would make me laugh when I was having a difficult day and we always talked about the Blues. Often we would discuss family, and plans for the future. He was a very special person. He had told me he was going to retire and enjoy the family. It doesn’t’ seem fair that someone like Dave was taken so unexpectedly. I wish your family much peace & love always.

I worked with Dave every day and our entire staff at Gateway Foundation is stunned with sorrow words cannot express. Dave had a big heart willing to do absolutely anything for anyone, always putting the other first. Even more than a generous spirit, he had a playful nature and a wonderful gift for expressing humor.
When I think of Dave, I recall words of St. Paul:
I give thanks to my God at every remembrance of you,
praying always with joy in my every prayer for all of you,
because of your partnership for the gospel . . .
I am confident of this,
that the one who began a good work in you
will continue to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.
It is right that I should think this way about all of you,
because I hold you in my heart . . . (Philippians 1:3-7a)
Dave, with deep gratitude and love, we hold you in our hearts as well. We look forward to our reunion with you when we will share the joy you know surrounded by your dearly departed family, co-workers you were so good to every day, and friends in
the loving presence of our God. Rest in Peace, dear friend!

Dear Aunt Karen, Jimmy and Jeff. I am so sorry to hear about Uncle Dave’s passing. My thoughts and prayers have been with each of you over the past two weeks and will continue to be with each of you through the coming days and months as you grieve the loss of a wonderful husband and father. Uncle Dave has always been a gentle loving person who everyone adored and loved to be around. While he will be missed by many there are so many great memories of him in each of our minds that we will hold very dear to our hearts.
One of the most treasured memories that I have with Uncle Dave is when he took me for a ride on my dad’s old Gold Wing motorcycle. We went through Jefferson Barracks Cemetery to visit Uncle Kenny’s grave. We talked about Uncle Kenny and Aunt Florence and he told me stories about them that I hadn’t heard before. At the time, I was so excited to learn that you and Uncle Dave had acquired my dad’s old bike and was so happy that one of my dad’s most loved possessions had found a new home where it would be treasured and loved just as much as he had loved it.
Another great memory that I have is when you and Uncle Dave had picked me up for the day to take me out for my birthday. I guess I may have been around 9 or 10 years old or maybe even a little younger. I don’t remember everything that we did that day but I do remember us going to play miniature golf and shopping. That was the first time I had ever played miniature golf so of course it sticks out in my memories and I even remember where it was located. The miniature golf place was at Chippewa and River des Pere which is now where Schnucks and Value City Furniture is located.
Rest in Peace Uncle Dave, You will remain in our heart and mind forever.
