Chef & I met through performing in the StL music scene; we slowly became friends & eventually brothers. He brought me in when he was first taking over Rigazzi’s & we spent the last 5 months overhauling the place together. He taught me so much. He was a mentor to me; I will try my best to carry his legacy forward.
I only knew Jewell for a little while at the HRC St. Louis. Only hung out a handful of times so I didn’t know him that well, but even in that short period of time, I knew he was a good person and fun to be around. Rest well Jewell. I’ll tell Danzig what you thought of him if I ever get the chance ..
Jewell was one of those amazingly happy and positive people who could always see the bright side of everything. I swear, I dont think I ever saw him without a smile. He was an old soul and a genuinely kind person, and this world will be dimmer without him in it.
Sad to hear of his passing. I only met him one time at a concert last year but he was very friendly as we oddly talked about the pants he was wearing.
Missed you the last time you came to Chicago, always taking for granted “there will be a next time” Rest In Peace Brother.
i knew jewell through the local music scene and the metal community here. he was friends with many people and influenced a lot of talented people here. he and i had a short friendship in the past couple of years, but over the times we spent together we made good memories that were filled with funny and great moments. i was honored to have knew him for the time i did. he was a good guy and will be deeply missed by many. Sandra & Ronda,
Our hearts are broken to hear this news. We will always remember J.W. as that sweet little boy with the big dimples and a bird on his shoulder. May God guide you through this difficult time. Our thoughts & prayers are with you.

Rest in Eternal Peace Jewel. May God be with all of the family during this difficult time. I met Jewell through our son. They used to gig together and we were blessed to be able to witness his musical talents. God bless you and and your eternal youth will live on forever through our memories.
Sandy & family. I was so sorry to hear when Janice told me and I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences and sympathy. You will be in my prayers, ongoing, and these comments make me realize how well loved JW is. Wish I could have known him, Sandy.
Was so saddened by the news of Jewell’s passing. I met him at a restaurant where he was working as a chef. I always enjoyed talking to him and his cooking. Such a unique person. RIP
You know my situation
The reality is true
But it’s leisure time for the pleasure boys
And the pleasure boys are you
I’ve known JW from elementary school till now. I always wanted to hire him as my personal chef. He was so many things to so many people. He was very talented and well loved by many. My condolences to his family. Sandy if you see this, my mom and you were friends from Southside. We both miss you.
Oh, I remember you Jennifer and I actually think of your Mother often. We were such good buddies during the Southside days. Playing together – all the class parties, etc… and field trips… they always gave me the group of mischievous boys…. What the??? Ha! I don’t know how we had the energy. It was such a wonderful season in our lives.
It seems now, that winter has come…
Luke 23:43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”
To all you wonderful folks who loved Jewell and who love us, Call your mother & tell you love her. We do not know what a day will bring.
