John J. Cody

September 12, 1938 - August 18, 2023

84, passed Friday evening August 18, 2023, from renal failure.  He leaves his wife Arleen (Jones) of 64 years, son; James W. Cody (Jill), daughter; Catherine M. Kestler (Brad), son; Richard S. Cody (Terri); 7 grandchildren; Marciano Garcia V (Linda), Christian Cody (Nicole), Erin Sweaney (Justin), Kevin Cody (Autumn), Shane Cody, Michael Cody, Daniel Cody.  Great grandchildren; Marciano VI, Liam, Malayna, Elliot, Grace, Kora.  And on the way Cameron and Jordan.  Also, he leaves behind many friends.

He attended Holy Innocents Catholic grade school in St. Louis and graduated from McBride Catholic High School in 1956.  He was a claims and risk manager at Bi-State Transit Company in St. Louis for 42 years.  John retired in 2000 and moved with his wife Arleen to Hilltop Villages in Eureka, MO where they shared many friends.  John was an avid football fan and especially loved the Kansas City Chiefs, but his real passion was automobile racing, which began in his youth.

There will be no memorial services, but a “celebration of life” will be held at a location and time to be announced at a later date by the immediate family.
