Cristine “Cris” Gail Johns, 63, of Fenton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at 4:00 a.m. at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. She was born on October 13, 1962, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, the daughter of the late Marvin E. Maxberry and Nora Jean Maxberry (Boles).
On October 29, 1988, Cris was united in marriage to David J. Johns in Eureka, Missouri. She was a proud graduate of Pacific High School in Pacific, Missouri. Cris spent many years working at Carol House Furniture, where she enjoyed connecting with her coworkers.
A faithful member of Messenger Worship Center in Fenton, Missouri, Cris deeply valued her church community. She loved devoting her time to crocheting, a hobby that brought her great joy and comfort. Known for her warm heart and boundless friendliness, Cris was a loving and caring person—rarely seen without a smile and always ready to spark a conversation with anyone she met.
Cris is survived by her loving husband, David, son, Andrew M. Johns (Mary) of Arnold, Missouri, her daughter, Megan M. Johns of Fenton, Missouri; and her cherished grandchildren, Peter Johns and Serena Johns of Arnold. She is also survived by her siblings: Marvena “Nena” Maxberry of Evansville, Indiana; Margaret McCormick (Rick) of Evansville, Indiana; Jennifer Bayer of Fairhope, Alabama; and Sylvia Jones (Brian) of Fort Myers, Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey Maxberry of Pacific, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025, and again on Monday, December 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, Mehlville, Missouri 63129. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Orr Street, Pacific, Missouri 63069.

  1. So sorry David, Andrew,Megan and Marvena and family for your lost. Cousin Cris will be deeply missed. Never saw her without her beautiful smile. She was a beautiful soul. I’m still in shock that she’s not with us anymore. May God keep you all in his abiding love and give you all strength in this time. ❤️yall family.   4. I’ve known Cris and her family and extended family for as long as I can remember she was the sweetest girl and she always had time for anyone. She loved aLot especially her family

  5. Chris was a sweet and kind hearted person. She was a wonderful person and she will be missed. I went to school with Christine and we all graduated in 1981.
