September 30, 1927- February 28, 2022

Mary E. Jorcke [nee Rosa], 94, of St. Louis, passed away in peace surrounded by family on Monday, February 28, 2022 at Laclede Groves. Mary, daughter of the late Harvey and Virgie (nee Faulkner) Rosa was born on September 30, 1927. Mary will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma (Maw Maw).

She was united in marriage to Norman Walter Jorcke, Sr. on March 27, 1947. Dear mother of  Fred Martin Jorcke (1949), Norman Walter Jorcke, Jr. [Mary Chris], Suzanne Elizabeth Wilson [Marv], and Robin Lee Jorcke-Harl [Joe].  Dear grandmother of Sean Russell [Becky], Tracy Becker [Jeff], Cami Dairaghi [Kevin], Ashley Kisner, Christina Snelson [TJ], Brittany Jones [Jared], Anthony Machiran [Breanna], Megan Jorcke, and Ryan Jorcke [Ashleigh]. Dear Great-grandmother of Alex Dairaghi, Braydon Jones, Destiny Russell, Ethan Dairaghi, Cruz Kisner, Brielle Bishop, Jace Snelson, Colin Dairaghi, Jett Jones, Kingslee Machiran, Lia Snelson, Axl Kisner, Jaggar Jones, Lynnon Machiran, Brooke Jones, Ava Snelson.

She is survived by three children, nine grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, son Fred Jorcke in 1949, her husband Norman Jorcke in 1996, her second husband John Kolar in 2013, and her great grandson Jagger Jones in 2016. Mary grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Bluet High School. After graduation she worked as a bookkeeper for a local retail store. After marriage, she worked at Jorcke’s cigar store, in St. Louis, owned by her and her husband Norman. She later returned to work as a bookkeeper at Dr. Ragland’s office, Dr. Roe’s office, and The Clayton Club. She was a member of the Eastern Star at the Mt. Moriah Chapter.

Visitation for Mary will be held on Friday March 4, 2022, from 4-8pm at Kutis Funeral Home 10151 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123. Funeral service will be Saturday March 5, 2022, at 9am at Kutis Funeral Home. Graveside service and burial at Sunset Memorial Park 10180 Gravois Rd, Affton, MO 63123. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Alzheimer Association (web site act.alz.org).
