Kacich

In Loving Memory

Kacich, Rose Ann (nee Borgwald)

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at age 81.

Beloved wife for 59 years of Thomas R. Kacich; dear mother of Karen (Tim) McCarthy, Gary (Barb) Kacich, Susan (Jim) Young, Timothy (Jill) Kacich and Thomas (Joelle) Kacich; dear grandmother of Nicole (Brian), Matthew (Kim), Dominic (Jessica), Sarah (Zach), Tyler, Abigail, Brittney, Jacob, Seth, Kayla, Joshua, Simon, Clayton, Cole and Chase. Dear great-grandmother of Thomas, Henry, Samuel, Connor and Josie. Dear sister of the late Joan (the late Robert) Hesskamp; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.

Rose was the youngest of two daughters and always remained very close to her sister, Joan. Rose attended St. Stephen Protomartyr grade school and Notre Dame High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Tom, and together they raised five children. Tom and Rose were long-time parishioners of St. Dominic Savio while operating a family-run newspaper delivery business. She was never short of kind words and gave a warm smile to anyone she met. Above all, Rose had a zest for life and lived every minute to its fullest. She had a special way of bringing joy to everyone she encountered.

Rose thoroughly enjoyed Walt Disney World and boasted about going there for its opening in 1971. Tom and Rose became Disney Vacation Club members and made countless trips there with family and friends through 2019. She was also an avid sports fan, especially of her children and grandchildren.

Rose’s biggest joy was spending time with family and friends. She especially treasured spending one-on- one time, which she lovingly referred to as her special days with each of her fifteen grandchildren. During those times, Rose made it a priority to personally connect with her grandchildren as she had always done with each of her children.

Rose will truly be missed for the love she brought to this world. Pray that she finds eternal peace.

Services: Funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Monday, November 15, 9:30 a.m. to St. Gabriel Archangel Catholic Church for a 10 a.m. Mass. MASKS REQUIRED Services conclude at church. Donations to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, American Cancer Society or Catholic Charities of St. Louis. Visitation Sunday 4-8. A Kutis Affton Service.

  3. Rose was a very dear friend ( more like family) to me. I met her 30 years ago at The French Quarter, Walt Disney World. I spent valuable time with her, Tom and sometime some of her family twice a year since we met and I spent more of my birthdays with her and Tom than anyone else in this entire world. She has left a huge hole in my heart but it is filled with countless laughs, fun and an over abundance of love. I will forever miss you, Rose❤️

  9. Aunt Rose touched so many hearts in our family. She was there for Mom when Mom needed a friend. Aunt Rose had the most contagious laugh. She encouraged our parents to enjoy the Magic at Disney World. She will be deeply missed.

  11. We join with all of you in mourning the passing of our Beloved (Aunt) Rose! There are some people we are never ready to say goodbye to. Aunt Rose was one of them. She leaves a large hole, especially in our hearts! The one consoling thought I had when we learned of her passing was the image of her re-uniting with her sister, Joan. May God grant her peace and may perpetual Light shine upon her.
