Kane, Eileen Carey

Passed away on September 23, 2017 at the age of 65 of  pancreatic cancer at Virginia Commonwealth University  Hospital.

Born on January 3, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio. Eileen grew up in Girard, Ohio with 8 sisters. She graduated from Ursuline High School in 1970. She attended St. Louis University graduating with a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology. She was  passionate about inclusive education and early childhood  development.  Working more than 35 years in schools across the country, she touched many children’s lives.

Eileen is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert E Kane III and her 2 children, Ryan and Brenna, along with 7 sisters, 22 nieces and nephews, 5 grandnieces and nephews and 1 on the way. Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas F. Carey and Patricia Jane Carey and her sister, Patricia Carey.

Services: Visitation will be held from 3-6pm on Sunday,  October 1, 2017 at Kutis Funeral Home 10151 Gravois Rd., St Louis, MO 63123.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart in Valley Park at Noon on Monday, October 2, 2017, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eileen’s name to Belle Children’s Services of St. Louis Arc at  slarc.org or towards cancer research at Cancer.net.
