Kaufmann, Richard C.
On Tuesday, June 21, 2016, Richard Kaufmann joined his childhood sweetheart and first wife, June; his dear daughter, Cindy; his most beloved son, Billy, whose death broke both Rich’s heart and his spirit; and many dearly loved family and friends in Heaven.
He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his best friend and wife of over 31 years, Lucy (nee Mues); his children, Jan, Rick and Scott; his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his sister Doris. Rich will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and especially by his many nieces and nephews who loved and cared for their Uncle Rich as if he were their father, especially being there for him over his last few years.
It is often said that “the truth hurts”. Well, if you couldn’t handle the truth, you needn’t talk to Rich. His son, Billy, often lovingly said “My dad was born without a tact gene.” However, Rich was also the first to be there to help anyone in need, often taken advantage of and underappreciated.
Services: A Memorial Service for Richard will be held at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. at Butler Hill on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at 4 p.m. with visitation from 1-4 p.m. Inurnment will take place at a later date in St. Paul Churchyard per Rich’s request. Memories or condolences may be shared at Legacy.com. In recognition of Rich’s love for his dogs, especially his puppy, Amelia, who would not leave his side until Rich was safely escorted to the next life, memorials to Humane Society of Missouri appreciated.
