Rod passed away at the age of 94 on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He was born and raised by his parents Rodney and Leontine. Survived by his wife Dolores (Dee), married for 71 years. Proud father of Daniel, Diane Trafton, Linda Straub, Julie Venable, Shari Kukic, and Vicki Haus; grandfather of 21 and great grandfather of 22. Also survived by his brother Don (wife Pat), brother-in-law, Don Folki, sister-in-law, Sister Nancy Folkl, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. He attended St. Louis University High School. Graduated from St. Louis University as an engineer. Rod worked for McDonnell Douglas for 41 years. He belonged to several choirs and loved music. Rod was very athletic and played football, baseball, softball, soccer, and tennis. He was active with the Youth groups at Our Lady of Sorrows for many years. He loved playing Santa Claus. He will be remembered as a person who loved being with family and friends and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life at St Justin the Martyr Church in Sunset Hills will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026. Visitation at 10am followed by Mass at 11am. If desired, in lieu of flowers, you may make donations in Rodney’s memory to the charitable foundation of your choice.
Rod was a good Guy. Spent time with him at McDonnel Douglas. I was just talking about him today before I saw the obit. RIP Kettlekamp. You were a good guy.
