Sandra Key

In Loving Memory

Key, Sandra Ann

October 24, 1954 - July 28, 2025

Sandra Ann Key October 24, 1954 – July 28, 2025 Sandra Ann Key, age 70, of Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. A lifelong learner, gifted problem-solver, and devoted mother,.

Sandra lived a life filled with purpose, laughter, and generosity. Born on October 24, 1954, Sandra earned both her bachelor’s degree in chemistry and her master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. She began her professional life as a chemist, later following her heart into education as a math teacher. Sandra married her Affton High School sweetheart, Kerry Key, on June 11, 1976. Together they built a joyful, busy home filled with five children, warm meals, and lively conversation — sometimes chaotic, always full of love. Her love and care extended beyond her own family, Sandra opened her doors every Thanksgiving to anyone who needed a place to feel at home. She was the proud mother of Tim, Alex, Courtney, Kellen, and Teddy, and an adoring grandmother to Timmy, Julia, Hollis, Everlie, and Karlyn. Sandra also leaves behind her siblings, Jacquie, Patrick, and Jane; a large extended family of cousins and friends; and her beloved husband of 49 years, Kerry. Sandra’s creativity was evident in everything she touched.

A skilled seamstress from childhood, she began by making doll clothes and went on to sew her own wedding dress — and her husband’s wedding suit. She lovingly crafted dresses and outfits for special occasions throughout her life, stitching memories into every thread. In recent years, one of her greatest joys was sitting with Kerry and cheering on their beloved St. Louis Cardinals. Sandra lived with grace, humor, and fierce dedication to those she loved. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the countless lives she touched — both in her own home and far beyond it.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois Rd, St. Louis, MO 63123. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 p.m.

  3. Kerry, Sandy and I have been friends since our Affton days. She was always a wonderful, kind person. I will miss her, as will the Class of ’73. I’m so sad for you and your family.
