Kienemann, Melvin E. Jr. “Mel”

Melvin E. “Mel” Kienemann, Jr., 68, departed to eternal life on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin E., and Bernice E. (Lynch) and brothers-in-law, Steven S. and Mark A. Appel.

He will be greatly missed by his cherished wife of 28 years, Karen K., his son, Marcus M. and his fiancée, Paige M. Krejci, stepdaughter, Lauren A. Bradley, and granddaughter, Annabelle K. Bradley.

He is also survived by his in-laws, Lester R. and Mary Ann (Falcetti) Appel, sisters-in-laws, Barbara J. (James L.) Peltason, Susan M. (Andrew J.) Kimball, and brother-in-law, Robert R. “Randy” Appel, nieces, and nephews.

Mel was born and raised in South St. Louis, the son of Melvin E. Kienemann, Sr. and Bernice (Lynch).  After graduating from Lindbergh High School, he attended Meramec community college and later Southwest Missouri State University, completing a degree in Wilderness Conservation.  During the college years, Mel became an experienced diver, where he met lifelong friends.

After school, Mel pursued a career at Anheuser-Busch.  He diligently worked as a production supervisor for 32 years.

Mel had a love for fishing, hunting, and the outdoors.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed life at the lake.  He was larger than life, knew no strangers, and was a great friend to all.

A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, June 15, 2019, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, at Kutis Funeral Home, 10151 Gravois, 63123. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you consider donating to Evelyn’s House, 1000 N. Mason Road, Creve Couer, MO 63141.
