In Loving Memory

Kluempers, James “Jim” Edgar

 

 

 

Baptized into the Hope of Christ Resurrection, on Monday, July 12, 2021. He was born March 8, 1929 in St. Louis to the late Edgar and Catherine (nee Kenney) Kluempers. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Anna M. (nee Burbon) Kluempers.

He is survived by six children: Michael J. Kluempers, Katherine (Elbert) Cook, Patricia (Mike) McCummiskey, Jane Stroud, Diane (Kevin) Moore and James W. Kluempers. He was preceded in death by a son, Paul J. Kluempers.

He is survived by grandchildren: Michael, Kevin (Tiffany), Stephen (Brittany), William (Dave Onescu) and Jennifer Kluempers. Lisa (Nick) Meyer, Katie (Brian) Kinworthy, Jeremy (Melissa) Cook, Amy (Jeremy Miller) Cook, Elizabeth (Joshua) Weseman and Joshua Cook, Leslie (Tyler Roth) Schwend, Zachary Stroud, Colin and Ethan Moore. He is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a brother, Thomas (Shirley) Kluempers.

At age 17, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy; stationed at Pearl Harbor and assigned to the Base Military Police Unit. Following his discharge, he began his 43-year long career in the U.S. Postal Service as a Union Letter Carrier, serving many years as Shop Steward.

As a life member of the Cedar Hill VFW, serving as a Service Officer and Chaplain many years. He enjoyed organic gardening, reading, and barbecues with family and friends.

Funeral Monday, July 19, 11:00 a.m. at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. Interment J.B. National Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the USO or the Salvation Army.  Visitation Sunday 4:00-8:00 p.m.
