Charles Kraus Jr.

In Loving Memory

Kraus Jr., Charles

December 30, 1948 - July 27, 2024

Beloved husband of Kathy Kraus (nee O’Leary) for over 49 years; loving father of Jennifer (Jeffery Smith) Kraus-Smith and Charles “Chuck” Kraus III; adoring grandfather of Brooke Wise, Gavin and Dylan Smith; cherished great-grandfather of Annabelle Wise; dear brother of Darlene (the late Mark) Weber; and special friend to the four-legged kind of Gizmo and the late Tyke. Our dearest brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Charlie dedicated 40 years of his life working at Anheuser Busch as a beer brewer where he made life long friends. He finished up his tenure with Anheuser Busch in the control room in the Brew House. After retirement, Charlie could be found fixing up his 1937 Ford Pickup or at the Lake of the Ozarks…his true happy place! Ever since he was able to walk, you could find a fishing pole in his hand. Charlie was so proud of his two children, Jenny and Chuck, and loved his bride, Kathy unconditionally. Charlie was a friend to everyone he met and will forever be our true “King of the Road.”

We ALL love you, Chaz.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151Gravois Rd. 63123 on Wednesday, July 31 from 4-9 pm. with Funeral Services on Thursday, August 1 at 10:00 am. Interment at Sunset Cemetery.

  7. Kathy,
I meant to include in the following in this section, as information,
I am a son of Paul & Lorraine (Hessler) Rueschhoff. My parents were close friends of Charlie’s parents and aunt and uncle.
My mother lived on a farm on Garber Road with her parents and brother Clarence. The Garbers were my great grandparents.
I wish you the best working through this difficult time.
    Sincerely, Jim Rueschhoff

  8. We’re so sorry to see this news, Chuck. Always remember the fun and great memories you have of your dad. Had I ever met him, I would have told him what a great job he did raising his son. (Which I’m sure was sometimes quite a challenge!) I’m sure he was really proud of you and loved your time together.
Our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

  15. Chuck and family,

We are terribly saddened to learn of your dad’s passing and know you’re all reeling from the loss. There are very few words that provide comfort, but know that we understand that pain and emptiness. The crushing weight of grief is very real. You’re in our thoughts and wish for you to eventually find some peace.
