Kreiner

In Loving Memory

Kreiner, Marie I. (nee Pfeiffer)

July 15, 1925 - August 25, 2025

July 15, 1925 – August 25, 2025

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Marie passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the age of 100. Beloved wife for 54 years to the late Richard Kreiner, loving mother to Corinne (Tim) Bardgett, Mary (Steven) Ramirez, Karen Nugent, grandmother to Rich (Stephanie) Rob (Cindy) Bardgett, Katrina and Haley Ramirez, Nikita (Corey), Zack and Christopher Nugent, and great-grandma to Alexis, Kyle, Teddy and Max.

Born on July 15, 1925, in Highland, Illinois, to parents Charles Pfeiffer and Emma Fetzner, Marie was the youngest of their eleven children, surviving them all: Alma, Charles Raymond, Florence, Arnold (Arlene), Walter (Laura), Alvina (Othmar) Frisse, Louise, Corinne, Leonard (Evelyn) and Irma (Patrick) Donnelly. In 1956, Marie met Richard at the Casa Loma Ballroom in St. Louis, when he asked her to dance.  In 1958, they celebrated their marriage at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Highland, and she joined Richard in St Louis, Missouri.

Marie lived her faith, never missing weekly mass no matter where her travels took her. Her daily prayers became legendary in the Kreiner family with many requests for her to put in a good word for a friend who was ill, or a family member who was troubled. Her service to the community and the Church included the Christian Mothers Society at St. Francis de Sales, and her weekly rosary group from St. Anthony’s, among other activities too numerous to mention over the course of her long and blessed life.  Her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren share warm memories of making 1000s of Christmas cookies over decades of Christmas seasons, singing Christmas hymns and carols around the piano, and celebrating Jesus’ birth at Christmas mass.

Her deep faith, endless energy and joyous spirit, guided her and her family and inspired her extensive network of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, many of whom joined to celebrate her milestone birthday this past July, where she once again danced until the music ended.  Patient and kind, hopeful and loving, Marie was a blessing to all in whose lives she shared over her very many years on this earth.  Marie’s unconditional love is reflected in the many people who loved her.  She will be missed by us all.
