Son of the late August and Mary “Peggy” Kristen, was born on January 30, 1941 in St. Louis and passed away on Friday July 7, 2023 at age of 82.
Bill was raised and lived in Affton, Missouri. He earned his Master’s degree from St. Louis University and began his PhD from Washington University. Professor Kristen taught Anthropology and Sociology at the college level his entire career.
Travel and art, in all its forms, were among his greatest loves. His appreciation for each was evident in conversations with friends and family. His devotion to his cats and all animals demonstrated his sweet and kind nature.
Bill leaves behind his loving sister and brother-in-law Patricia (John) Anderson; his beloved cousin Joann Hyberger, his nephews, Bill (Sue) and Steve (Angie) Pietrowski and niece Patty (Dave) Medcalf, along with many great nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Missouri in his memory.
