In Loving Memory

Kurczynski, Ronald Edward

September 5, 1952 - September 18, 2025

Ronald Edward Kurczynski passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2025, at the age of 73. Born in St. Louis, MO, to Edward and Lucille Kurczynski, on September 5th, 1952. Ron attended St. Pius V and St. Mary’s High School. Later, he moved around South County and spent the last 30 years of his life in Fenton, MO. As a dedicated IT professional, Ron worked at Citi Corp, MasterCard, and UniGroup.

In 1988, Ron met Renee and they fostered an unbreakable friendship. One that endured over 30 years, and today, they both feel blessed to have known, grown, and experienced life together- true best friends! Throughout Ron’s life he epitomized placing others ahead of himself! As a devout father, he always prioritized his family and even instilled those values in his children. Ron had frequently stated that his proudest moments were watching his children turn into the upstanding adults that you see today!

Additionally, for over 50 years, Ron volunteered at multiple charities. He gave his time and energy to others: providing hundreds, if not thousands, of meals for the local community and hundreds of hours of community service for those unable!

When Ron wasn’t prioritizing his family or helping others, he was bringing laughs into every room. Ron’s uncanny ability to brighten everyone’s day and bring a smile to their face will truly be missed!

The world lost one of the best, but Heaven gained a modern-day angel.

Ron is survived by his children: Ross (Tatiana) and Riley (Aaron Todd) Kurczynski; his grandchildren: Jace and Luke; his siblings: Victoria (Patrick) Shaughnessy, Margie (Michael) Shaughnessy, Kathy (the late Al) Yanko, Rose (Jack) Sturm, and Linda (Patrick) Wheeler; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and friends. He is preceded in death by his sister Mary Ann Scher (nee Kurczynski).

A memorial gathering will be held at Kutis Funeral Home5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO  63129, on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  There will be a service from 1:00-1:30. Immediately following the service, there will be a “Celebration of Life” luncheon at The Lodge at Grants Trail from 1:30 to 4:30pm, 4398 Hoffmeister Ave., St. Louis, MO 63125. We welcome all to come and celebrate Ron’s illustrious life, while sharing food, drink, and stories. Ron’s life will be commemorated with the same warmth, love and laughter that he so freely gave to others.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Pius V SVDP, 3310 S. Grand Blvd, St Louis, MO  63118. The same charity that Ron, and his father, dedicated their lives to.

  1. As Ron’s brother in law, married to his sister Mary Ann I thought he was a free spirit in his early days. I recall him telling about how after sneaking out of the house earlier that he had climbed up the brick wall by the front porch to reach his second story window into his room. As crawling half way in his dad, Ed, opened his bedroom door sees Ron and asks him “are you coming or going “.
Ron had a way to tell a story.
    Ron you will be missed.

  2. Ron,

I knew you since we were both five years old.
Our lives were intertwined ever since.
I remember going to your home on Utah Ave and
    and visiting with your parents.
Your parents were some of the kindest people I
    I ever knew.
I really enjoyed talking with your dad.
He was the coolest father of all our friends

The years at Thanksgiving time when we helped St. Pius give turkeys to
the poor. Knocking on doors in those rundown apartment buildings.

You were super handy and seemed to be able to fix anything,
and for a time, you helped the old and elderly in the neighbor
keep their houses in shape. I think you might have done that
    for several years.

You also were a great athlete, with incredible reflexes.
I could never beat you in handball.
Later in life, you were an outstanding pickleball player.

Your smile and laugher could light up a room.

You were in Sharon’s and my wedding.

The times you, Renee, Sharon and I went to the Winery.
I still have a picture of us on a hillside raising a glass.

In later life the picnics we had at Jefferson Barracks,
Bill W, Carl Pelech, Kevin Jekel, Leo Kabot and Greg Crawford
    were all there.

I could go on and on, but my figures are getting tired.

I have been extremely blessed in my life, and having you as
my best friend is one of them that is right near the top.

Say “hi” to Bill Wingbermuehle and Kevin Jekel for me.

I’ll be seeing you one day, hopefully not for many, many years.

    Rest in Peace dear friend!
    With much love!

  3. Rest in peace Ron. My brother Greg is extremely saddened. I had a school-girl crush on Ron. We used to hang out in Linda’s room, and Rose too. We will miss his smile and happy personality. ❤️

  4. My sympathy to the family. I went to grade school with Ron. He was always the polite, quiet classmate that always said hi and smiled. It sounds like he was a wonderful person all his life. I feel lucky to say he was my classmate at St.Pius.
Keeping you in my prayers. Mary Ann

  5. Ron was my brother. Ron was the only brother to 6 sisters. We were all so happy to have a brother, and especially, one like Ron. He was more than a brother. Ron looked out for us no matter how old we were. He was a brother and a person we could always count on. The siblings would always get together to celebrate our birthdays and Ron always brought flowers for his sisters. Hearing stories this week, I heard, “Ron was one of the greatest men I knew.” And, “Ron was the perfect role model.” “Hard to imagine being in a world without Ron in it.” Ron was a simple man with strong values. He didn’t talk about people, never judged and was fair to everyone. Ron was a gentle soul and I will miss him everyday.

  8. I am Judy Miller, Jim Miller‘s wife. of almost 53 years (11-25-72).
Jim and Ron were extremely good friends through grade school and high school.. I knew Ron quite well back then! And a few of his sisters as well! I met his parents.and had dinner with them once. He dated my sister for a short while.
Unfortunately, after Jim and I got married at the age of 20 and had a baby at the age of 22 we sort of lost touch, but that doesn’t mean we never stopped thinking of him., and Rick ,Leo, ,Willie,, and Carl. .
We just found out that he passed away and would have loved to have shown our respects at hiis funeral..
    Such is life!!!!
    Rest in peace Ron.!
