I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. He was such a gentle soul. I so enjoyed playing tennis with him and greeting he and HIroko early on Saturday mornings when I was taking my lesson and they were playing on a court across from me. Your family is in my prayers.
Hiroko and Family:
I too was very sadden with the news about Dave. He had an impact on everyone he encountered. He often followed me with my lessons with Tao. Just a couple of weeks ago, he gave me your number so that I could join your group. His caring spirit will be missed. Our hearts are with you and the family.

Dear Hiroko and Family,
I had the pleasure of playing with Dave in mixed doubles and he brought such knowledge and skill to the court. I learned at lot from him. He never, in my eyesight got upset on the court. He always reset in a positive way. He was such a kind gentleman and to always see the two of you together was a treat. My prayers are with you and the family that God will give you peace during this time of sorrow. Be blessed in Jesus Name, Amen
Sincerely,
Minister Valerie Smith
Dave always had a huge smile on his face and was very eager to spend time on the Heman Park tennis courts Saturday and Sunday mornings with his old ball machine. I miss him…
Hiroko & family –
I’m so sorry to know of your loss. It’s been quite a while since I played tennis with you, but you were both such delightful competitors. I know you will miss him, and I hope in time that memories of your happy years together will overshadow the sadness of his death.
My condolences to Hiroko and the entire family. Dave was truly one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am shocked to hear of his passing and will never forget him. I wish I could attend on Wednesday to personally express my sympathy to you Hiroko because you are such a wonderful person as well. I will be there in spirit.
Hiroko and family,
Chesterfield Athletic Club is sending our thoughts and prayers to you. Dave was like a member of our CAC family. He was such a warm. pleasant and welcoming tennis member. We will miss him here at Chesterfield Athletic Club.
Dear Hiriko,
I was very saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. He was one of a kind. We were tennis partners during my time in St. Louis. His childlike innocence was so refreshing.
Rest in peace my friend.
Never a harsh word nor ill will expressed towards anyone. A kind gentleman at his core. The world would benefit from more like him. My condolences. Joe B
Dear Hiroko, I am so saddened by the passing of Dave. As you probably know Dave was one of our favorite members. I don’t think we have ever had anyone in our clinics that loved tennis more than Dave. Dave played Saturday mornings and men’s Interclub with us for decades. He enjoyed playing with everyone. He never once ever complained about his partner. I can still hear his laugh from 5 courts away. Dave was such a gentleman as well as being so humble.
