Lamatina, Angelo J.

Angelo J. Lamatina of St. Louis passed peacefully on Wednesday, January 15th, at home.   He was born in Freeman Spur, Illinois to John and Theresa Lamatina.  He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.  He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Madeline (nee Morthland) Lamatina the love of his life, 3 children – son Jeff Lamatina(wife Linda), daughter Joletta Malone(husband Steve), and son Joe Lamatina(Marti).  He has 4 beautiful granddaughters, Nicole Lamatina, Lea Lamatina (wife Amy), Blair White (husband Dan), and Jenna Thu (husband James).  He has 2 wonderful grandsons, Joel Alonzo, and Jacob Alonzo (wife Cheryl).  He also has 4 great grandchildren, Nico Alonzo, Stella Alonzo, Holden Alonzo, and Harper White – with a 5th on the way.

He is preceded in death by his son, John Lamatina, his parents and sister Josephine Calcaterra.

Services will be held at the Kutis South County Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Wed, January 29th.  Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with a service following.  He will be buried after the service, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full military honors.
