J-Laschober

In Loving Memory

Laschober, Joan Georgia (nee Prokasky)

Joan Georgia Laschober (nee Prokasky)

Fortified by the Catholic sacraments, Joan passed into God’s loving care on February 24, 2022, at the age of 90.

Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband John F. Laschober.  She was the proud mother of John J. Laschober (Judi) and Jim Laschober (Susan), loving grandmother of Beth Willett (Jack), Anne Giett (Keaton) and Jake Laschober.  She was the great-grandmother of George Willett and Peter Willett.

Joan was the sister of the late Rita Grimes and a beloved sister-in-law.  She cherished her nieces and nephews in the Ricciotti and Grimes families.

Born in south St. Louis near the Bevo Mill, Joan grew up in St. Louis Hills and graduated from St. Gabriel parish grade school.  From there, she went on to graduate from Ursuline Academy and St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing.

‘Georgia’ valued her long friendships with ‘the Ursuline girls’, class of 1949 which included a friendship with Lois Missel over the last 85+ years.

A faithful believer in Catholic education to complement what was taught at home, Grandma Laschober was happy to see her three grandchildren attend Catholic schools and to see both granddaughters join her as Ursuline alumnae.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations  in Joan’s memory to Ursuline Academy 341 S. Sappington Rd, St. Louis MO  63122.

Our family is eternally grateful for the prayerful support of so many family and friends.

Joan’s life will be celebrated at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church on Monday, March 7.  Visitation in church at 10 am with Holy Mass at 11 am.  Internment in Resurrection Cemetery.

Condolences
