Passed away on February 12, 2025, at the age of 68 years old. Loving husband of Barbara Layton (nee Burke). Father of Timothy Layton (Lauren), Teresa Layton, and Anna Palmton (Kacie). Grandfather to Olivia and Elle Layton. Son of the late Robert and Freda Layton (nee Vandiver) and son in law to the late Thomas and Dorothy Burke (nee Mullineaux). Brother of Diana Arras-Layton (Greg), Dennis Layton (Sharon), Brenda Layton-Stibal (David), Joyce Layton-Barfield (Barry), and Richard Layton (Kelly). Brother-in-law of Irene Burke-Graves (The late Richard) and Margaret Burke-Flucke (Frank). He was a beloved uncle, cousin, and dear friend to many, as well as a human companion to Carly.

Celebration of Life scheduled for Larry will be at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Saturday March 15, 2025 from 1-3 pm, with service to follow.

  1. Words cannot express the deep sorrow and emptiness we feel. Larry and Barb have been an integral part of my life for almost 50 years. And Jim has lost “my very first friend.” This loss will be so hard on the people left behind. Peace to you, our dear friend, you will never be forgotten. You were the best.
