Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, James “Jim” Henry Leipholtz, born December 17, 1943, entered into eternal life on July 2, 2026, passing away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Amelia “Molly” Leipholtz.
Beloved husband of Judith “Judy” Ann Leipholtz for over 56 years. Dear father of Amy Leipholtz, Tim (Carrie) Leipholtz, and David (Sidney) Leipholtz. Dear grandfather of Abby, Molly, Ryan, Millie, and Clara. Dear brother of Robert “Bob” (Florence) Leipholtz, Ronald “Ron” (Kathy) Leipholtz, and Barbara Walhermfechtel (the late Dan). Our dear brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many.
Jim was a proud retired Captain of the St. Louis City Fire Department. An avid outdoorsman, he loved duck hunting, fishing, golfing, and biking. He was also a devoted friend and neighbor, always willing to lend a hand, and treasured a close-knit group of friends from grade school and high school that he stayed in touch with throughout his life. But above all, he was a devoted husband and father who cherished nothing more than his five grandchildren — rarely missing a game, concert, or school event. If possible, his grandchildren adored him just as fiercely, and the bond they shared was one of the great joys of his life.
