  1. I’m am so sorry to hear of Harry’s passing. He was such an icon and legend of a man. I knew him through NGA (DMA,DMAAC) and played softball, golf and bowling against him. He also helped prepare many of us who supported the Athens Olympics through our work. He taught us all about being “Greek”. What a wonderful man who will be remembered by many.

  17. My best memory is going to Berra park as a kid to watch my father play fast pitch softball late 70’s to earlier 80’s and he had Mr Lemakis playing shortstop. He played that position like a composer conducting an orchestra. He treated me and my family like we were his family and I will never forget that. My deepest condolences to the family and you lost a great man.

  21. Dear Lemakis Family,
It was with great sadness that we read the passing of Harry. His ability to give service to others had no bounds. It would be hard to find a man so dedicated to his faith and church. We worked with Harry and Christine on the IOCC dinners and their devotion to the cause was inspiring. Please accept our sincerest sympathies.

Sandy and I express our condolences for you with the passing of Harry. We knew Harry only through our meetings of the local Cretan Group. Harry was a gentleman and a true friend. We enjoyed his family stories and his childhood remembrances of Jeanne and him in Alton. We will miss him. May he rest in peace.

  35. As I reflect on my upbringing at St. Nicholas Church in the 60’s and early 70’s, Harry easily comes to mind as our engaging 8th grade Sunday School teacher, basketball coach, and mentor who took an interest in us kids, encouraging us with a positive and joyful spirit. These are clear signs of how Christ worked through him to touch my life and many others. May his memory be eternal!
