Beloved husband of the late Alma Lewis (nee Tournour); loving father of Gene (Peggy), Jim (Tammy), Jeff (Christie), Jay (Chris) Lewis and Sarah Lewis; adoring grandfather of David (Brook), Greg (Samantha), Lisa (Corey), Austin (Jackie), Jordan, Cece, Kyle, Bryson, Barrett, Maggie, Lucy, Torie and the late Carly; cherished great-grandfather of Mikayla, Presley, Landon, Jackson, Parker, Emma, Julien and Wells. Our dearest brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Gene was a Teacher, Principal and Administrator in the City of St. Louis Public School system for over 30 years. He enjoyed coaching his four boys in Little League, playing cards with friends, martinis (extremely dry), cheap cigars, trips to the casino and vacationing in Pensacola, Florida.

The family would like to thank the special staff and aids at Southview Assisted Living and Memory Care and the Staff of AccentCare Hospice for their caring attention to Gene.

Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, February 2 from 4-8 pm. with Funeral Service on Saturday, February 3 at 10:00 am. Interment at St. Paul Churchyard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions to Alzheimer’s Association or A.L.S Association appreciated.

    I was so sorry to hear about your dad’s passing, and I regret that I was unable to attend the wake. I have many memories of great times with your family. I loved your dad’s kindness and the sound of his laugh.
