Born on July 20, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL. Edgar learned early the value of hard work, loyalty and devotion to those he loved. He met Barbara though a mutual friend, and they took a leap of faith and bonded in Holy Matrimony. Edgar took pride in the family he and Barbara built from the love they shared with one another. Watching that love grow across generations was one of the greatest blessings in their lives.
Edgar passed away on June 18, 2026 at the age of 74 at his home in University City, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Lewis Jr. and Sadie Mae, 1 son, Thomas Whitehorn Jr. and 1 brother, Rickey Lewis.
Edgar leaves behind his beloved wife Barbara Lewis of 48 years, 4 sons, Edgar Lewis Jr. (Felice), Shawn Whitehorn Sr., Darren Whitehorn Sr., Delrick Whitehorn Sr., 3 sisters, Angela, Valarie, and Sharon Jean, 1 brothe, Donnell, 7 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services: Funeral from Kutis Funeral Home, City Chapel, 2906 Gravois, Saint Louis, MO 63118, was held on Friday June 26, 2026 at 12pm. Interment at St. Matthew Cemetery.
