Linda Lee (née Richardson) Light, 74, of Saint Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully on September 27, 2024.
Linda was born in Saint Louis on November 20, 1949. She was the eldest of four daughters of Roy and Dorothy (née Newton) Richardson.
In 1969, she met Michael “Wayne” Light, and they wed in 1970, going on to have four children, Melinda Light, Michael Light Jr., Melanie Watson (née Light) and Miranda Smith (née Light).
Linda landed her first job as a Graphic Arts Stripper for United Pentecostal Church International Publishing House in 1969. In 1976, she began her home daycare where she taught many children and prepared them for kindergarten. During this time, she went on to study Child Development, specializing in Special Needs, at St. Louis Community College and earned her Associate’s Degree in 2003. She continued her education earning several certificates.
Linda was also a Sunday School teacher at Apostolic Pentecostal Church for over 50 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. You could always find her with a professional camera in hand capturing memories of her family.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Richardson, her grandparents, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne; her children, Melinda Light, Michael Light Jr., Melanie Watson and Miranda (Michael) Smith; her grandchildren, Madison (Deontae) Robinson (née White), Samantha White, Zane White, Ashlie Watson, Erin Watson Jr., Alysa Light, Alexis Smith, Nathaniel Smith and Mackenzie Smith; and great-grandchildren, Connor White, Rylan Robinson, Tucker Krehmeyer, Tristan Robinson and Owen Krehmeyer; sisters, Barbara Richardson, Patricia Stout (née Richardson) and Mary Ann Richardson as well as many other family and friends
SERVICES: Visitation will be held at Apostolic Pentecostal Church (901 Barracksview Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125) on Monday, October 7th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, October 8th from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, until the funeral service begins at 12:00 PM. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
I’m sorry you went too soon, but I’m happy for you as you’re released from the worries of this earthly walk and I treasure the time we got to spend playing games together..I’m going to miss you Linda..God speed sister..love Deb
