With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Dorothy Liszewski, also known affectionately as “Dottie”, on January 1, 2025. Born on April 19, 1948,
Dorothy was a quick-witted, strong, and independent individual who everyone around her deeply admired and cherished.
Dorothy’s personality shone the brightest in her role at The Buttery Restaurant, where she served her community of loyal customers and friends for many years. Her dedication and service earned her the heartfelt nickname of the “Buttery Queen”.
In the face of sorrow, we also celebrate the rich and fulfilling life Dorothy lived. Her legacy is family – a testament to her unwavering love and dedication towards her loved ones. She is survived by her children Edward Corrigan, Laura McGrath, and Christie Ashley. The joy of her life extended to her grandchildren, Terra Dixon, Claire Whitlow, Joclyn Corrigan, Colin Hasheider, Ian Hasheider, her great-grandchildren, Trevor Burns, Alana Phillips, Jackson Rahaman, and her great-great grandson Liam Burns. Dorothy also leaves behind her siblings Lester and Larry DeMay, and her sister, Edith Brown.
Dorothy was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy DeMay, her father, Lester DeMay, her daughter, Jacquline Gallup, her partner, Don O’Day, her brothers, Keith, Steven, Michael, Phillip, Gary, and Richard DeMay, her sister Kay and her beloved grandson, Christopher McGrath.
A funeral service to commemorate and honor Dorothy’s life will be held on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at 12 pm. at Kutis Funeral Homes City location. Visitation will be from 10am until time of service at noon. Her love, strength, and spirit will live in our hearts forever.
You will be missed Dottie. You were so amazing to me. I know you are smiling down on all of us rite now. My prayers go out to all your family. I love you Dottie one day we will meet again. 🪽
